Pancake Recipes: Sourdough Pancakes

MIU Polished Stainless-Steel Pancake DispenserThis recipe can be enjoyed with butter and maple syrup or try some of the variations listed and add blueberries, apples, or your favorite kind of fruit.

Ingredients:
2 cups sour dough starter
4 tablespoons oil
1 egg
2 tablespoons sugar
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp baking soda
1 Tbsp. warm water

Directions:
The Best 50 Pancake Recipes1.In a medium bowl add the oil, egg, sugar, and salt to the sour dough starter and mix well. When you are ready to pour the batter onto the griddle, dilute the baking soda into the water.

2.Fold baking soda and water gently into the batter; do not beat. Bake on hot griddle unto golden brown. Serve hot with maple syrup.

Variation: Blueberry pancakes
To the above recipe add: 1 cup blueberries and 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar. Fold gently into batter before adding baking soda and bake until blueberries are thoroughly cooked on both sides.

To the above recipe add: 1 cup finely diced apples, 3 Tbsp. brown sugar, ½ tsp. cinnamon, ¼ tsp. nutmeg. Fold gently into batter before adding the baking soda. Bake until apples are thoroughly cooked on both sides.
